Air Ambulance Service receives Red Marlin support for 2016

Red Marlin has selected the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) as its chosen charity for 2016.

The decision followed an eventful Christmas for Red Marlin’s director, Danny Rughoobeer, whose seven year old daughter, Daisy, was treated by the air ambulance after a fall at home resulted in a serious head injury requiring immediate hospital treatment.

Danny hopes that the fundraising efforts of the Red Marlin team will go some way to repaying the service for coming to their aid.

“I cannot thank the air ambulance service enough for helping us in our hour of need,” comments Rughoobeer. “Living in rural Warwickshire, the air ambulance service is vital in treating people who require urgent, emergency medical help, just like my daughter, yet without any Government funding, its ongoing operation is entirely dependent on the generosity of donors. As a result, I’m pleased to announce that at Red Marlin, we’ll be supporting the charity throughout 2016.”

The first fundraising effort already planned by the Red Marlin team will see them battling mud, sweat and tears in April’s Wolf Run.

“We are so pleased that Red Marlin have chosen us as their Charity of the Year 2016. With their expertise helping us reach a new audience we can keep our vital service saving lives,” remarked Jo Payne, Senior Fundraising Manager, Warwickshire.
