Yokohama chooses Red Marlin to spearhead UK growth

Red Marlin is celebrating another major success after Yokohama, the world’s eighth largest tyre manufacturer, appointed the company to handle its passenger car and motorsport tyres account in the UK.

Effective immediately, the agency will develop a range of high-profile media campaigns to increase awareness of the brand and its products, as well as re-inforce and enhance Yokohama’s positioning in the premium tyre sector.

“We’re thrilled to have been appointed by such an enormous global brand,” enthused Danny Rughoobeer, managing director, Red Marlin. “Thanks to its expanding product portfolio and high profile activities such as the official shirt partner of Chelsea FC and participation in numerous motorsport series, Yokohama’s appeal with drivers is already growing significantly. We’re very much looking forward to joining them on this journey and helping them become the tyre brand of choice for a growing number of discerning drivers.”

Red Marlin is no stranger to the tyre or automotive industry and will use its extensive experience to help support Yokohama’s growth. Previously for five years, the agency managed the PR activities of TyreSafe, the UK’s tyre industry safety awareness body, and its current rosta includes a number of other related businesses including garage equipment supplier, Pro-Align, and wheel protection system manufacturer, AlloGaytor. The company also manages other high-profile automotive accounts such as Silverstone Auctions and ClassicLine Insurance.

“Having seen the results from Red Marlin’s previous tyre industry work, we had no hesitation in appointing them to manage our activities in the UK,” comments David Seward, managing director, Yokohama HPT. “It’s an incredibly exciting and busy time for us all at Yokohama and we’re confident that by appointing Red Marlin, they’ll be able to help us continue our growth.”

The latest triumph for Red Marlin comes after a number of other notable business successes in 2016 which have resulted in the company relocating to new, larger premises within Leamington Spa and taking on additional members of staff.
