Red Marlin auction success

Record results for Red Marlin client

Global media coverage generated by Red Marlin has helped one of its automotive clients achieve a record-breaking, year-end finale.

Promotion of Silverstone Auctions’ classic car sale the NEC Classic Motor Show was handled by the Warwickshire PR and communications agency, with substantial pre-event media coverage and online buzz generated around the globe.

Such was the success of the event’s promotion that Silverstone Auctions achieved its highest ever sales total and conversion rate at the sale. Interest in the lots on offer resulted in phone and online bids from around the world including China, Singapore and the USA, as well as a bumper crowd attending in person at the auction hall.

“We’re delighted that our expertise and hard work has helped one of our clients achieve such an enormous success,” comments Danny Rughoobeer, managing director, Red Marlin. “Before the sale, we already knew we were creating quite a buzz as feedback from vendors as far away as Argentina had been very positive; we’d even generated publicity about their car in their local press! It’s always great to see media coverage of our work but it’s even more satisfying to see the tangible sales results it helps to deliver.”

Among the activities organised by Red Marlin to promote the event was a high profile drive feature with the Daily Telegraph, BBC Radio interviews, an online classic car buying guide with and social media competitions for enthusiasts.
