Paddy Power Brits

February PR Award

We’re big fans of a PR stunt to get some buzz and chatter going around your brand and there’s one company that do it better than most, Paddy Power.

At last month’s BRIT Awards two strange men, helmet clad and trouser less save for a pair of Paddy Power’s lucky green underpants, stormed the red carpet at the annual music awards.

Gate-crashing the party bearing a resemblance to the French DJ duo, Daft Punk, the pair caused a stir whilst Paddy Power tweeted images of the lookalikes to the world.

However, whilst coming up with some fantastic ideas the company also pushes the boundaries a little too far.

This week they were derided in the press, as well as by the general public for a marketing stunt in particularly bad taste, relating to the trial of Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius. And so for that we have to revoke the win!
