Newspress Awards 2020

A catch-up with with Newspress Rising PR Star 2017 – Moyosola Fujamade

As part of our proud sponsorship of this year’s Newspress Rising PR Star award, we’ve had a quick chat with some of the past winners to see how winning the accolade has helped them, plus more!

This time it’s the turn of Moyosola Fujamade, press officer (Events) at Kia Motors (UK) Limited, who won the award in 2017.

Q: How did the Newspress Rising PR Star award help your career?

A: I have been able to progress from looking after the press fleet to planning and implementing all Kia Motors (UK) Limited event activities, such as product launches, drive days, etc. This has allowed me to gain a reputation that I believe to be positive and highly regarded across the entirety of the industry – not just journalists but amongst PRs also.

Q: What is your greatest PR achievement?

A: Actually a few that come to mind are organising full UK launches in Korea (from the UK, with a time difference and agencies that didn’t always all speak English), the GT420 Stinger drive day and the Stinger ‘Grand Tour’ launch.

Q: What do you most love about your job?

A: The variation it comes with because no two days are ever the same and I am fairly autonomous in my day-to-day activities.

Q: What advice do you have for those starting a career in automotive PR?

A: PR is an industry based on reputation, concise communication and consistency. Focus on those three elements for everything.

Keep posted for more Rising PR Star instalments!

Closing date and time for entries for the Newspress Awards 2020 is March 16 at 11.59pm.
