Red Marlin’s Goodwood Festival of Speed

Attracting hundreds of thousands of enthusiastic automotive and motorsport fans from around the world every year, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the most important events in the motorsport events calendar. Some of the biggest manufacturers show their new innovations as well as celebrate their rich and storied past, with the most famous names in the industry making appearances to create a truly memorable experience.

We at Red Marlin attended the event, always learning and taking inspiration as the automotive industry evolves further.

Supporting the Dames

Of course, with the announcement that one of our clients, Iron Lynx, would be appearing at the festival with their Iron Dames machine driven by Rahel Frey, Michelle Gatting and Sarah Bovy, we couldn’t turn down the opportunity to be present at the event and show our support as their Ferrari 488 GTE car powered up the hill for its practice run.

There were plenty of punters gathering around their garage area looking for the perfect snapshots to their day, as well as young fans chasing autographs from the Dames, as they continue to shine a light on female inclusivity in motorsport.

Celeb Spotting

It seemed that wherever you looked, there would be a celebrity of note in your eyesight, with motorsport royalty such Nigel Mansell wandering the paddocks and even having a lovely reunion with his 1989 race winning Ferrari F1 car, and his 1992 championship winning Williams FW14B.

Even the likes of Gordan Ramsey and David Beckham were spotted roaming the grounds at Goodwood Estate, enjoying the atmosphere and camaraderie on a warm day in West Sussex.

Red Arrows

With the sun eventually breaking through the clouds as lunch time approached, the Red Arrows appeared in a blaze of glory as the fans reached for their phones to catch a glimpse of the Royal Air Force performing seemingly impossible aerial acrobatics.

And with the cars continuing to drive up the Hillclimb, as well as music coming from all directions, the event really lived up to its festival billing.

Overall, the team here at Red Marlin had an unforgettable day at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and would recommend attending the event in any form to really understand and soak in the heritage and importance of the automotive and motorsport industry. It’s not to be missed!
